I have had a longer version for an AR for years. I just picked up a Sig Cross and needed a compact case, so I grabbed this one. It is the perfect fit for the Cross with a Leupold Mark 6 3-18 scope mounted (including having a magazine in the case).
I got the 36" sleeve in coyote brown. My rifle fits in it pretty well. I cut some foam to shape and inserted it into the barrel mount for even better control of the muzzle while on the move. The molle/pals webbing on the inside allows for some adjustability in the positioning of the barrel mount and stock retention strap. There is a pocket that seems to run the entire lenght of one side of the sleeve; with a hook and loop access slit near the handle. There is also a hook and field on the inside that's good for the addition of some First Tactical velcro pouches. (I personally feel like the loop field should run throughout the entirety of the inside of the sleeve. I think there is some valuable real estate in there that isn't being used.) The sleeve works well with the Hook and Hang Thru System in my First Tactical backpacks. The fit is a bit tight with the rifle in the sleeve, and the sleeve in the bag, but the seams haven't blown out yet. Overall, I'm psyched on this sleeve.
Works great! I had a little trouble at first hooking it to my backpack but figured it out.
As usual, First Tactical took something pretty standard and made it a bit better. I like this case and recommend it for the money, but I should note that it will not fit a standard AR15 with a Sig Sauer Romeo 5 (pretty standard sized red dot) and a magazine inserted; the case is not tall enough to hold the weapon without stretching the zippers. This issue is not a huge deal, but if you need that size requirement, this case is probably not the one. Otherwise, cool design and will protect the weapon well. Also, near on the top side of the interior, overlaying the butt of the rifle when closed, there is a panel sewn in for accepting Velcro attachments, so you could add a magazine holder ect. in that spot. Plus the black muzzle holder is adjustable as well.
The rifle sleeve is awesome for my long gun and it is a great accessory for my 1/2 Day pack. I definitely recommend it.
