Bought item specifically to use as compass pouch, not for my cell phone. I have a Suunto MC2 Global compass, and it fits just right. Used it during a land nav course, and worked as I expected, even carried it upside down to see if compass would detach from it. It didn’t happen. I’m very happy with the purchase! In the slim pocket I added a rite in the rain on-the-go notepad, a bit smaller than a standard business card, and a grid reader (protractor), and the overall fit is nice. The above items don’t make the pouch bulky or cumbersome. Notepad is used to write coordinates, etc.. and my rectangular shaped protractor to help me determine my position on a map. I’m a SAR volunteer.
Oh, before I forget, their customer’s service is Tops! Just recently I placed an order for a 36L pack, which I promptly messed up the shipping address. Ms. R.C. fixed me right up, this without me giving the order number, another screw up. Needless to say, she took care of it, very quickly. These guys/gals are on the ball, right now I’m saving, because I’ll order a 6x10 pouch, and a water bottle pouch to go with my pack.
Very functional products that are well designed and of high quality.
I use these pouches on virtually all of my bags from office, to range bag, and hunting packs. Anywhere I'm doing anything too rough to have a phone my person, this pouch will keep it close and protected. It fits tight enough to retain in the roughest of use and has ample padding to protect the device from minor hits
I use an iPhone SE with no case and it fits very well, snug enough not to move around too much but still has enough space for me to easily remove the phone. I use the pouch mounted upside down on the back of my plate carrier because I'm not nimble enough to reach the phone if its rightside up. Either way, even upside down the phone is protected and held securely in place.
