I should preface by clarifying that I am rating these pants with a specific context in mind: domestic and international travel, for personal as well as professional purposes. Especially abroad, I need EDC items such as phone, reading classes, passport, and wallet easily accessible yet secure, in a manner that draws little attention while giving a clean, professional appearance. This rules out sling bags, most tactical pants, and things like travel vests. I have 2 pairs of A2s - one in coyote, and one in black - the coyote is the better color for my personal travel, as it comes very near to looking like a pair of chinos with the exception of the cell-phone slip pockets, so 4 stars for that pair, but in black, this pant rates a 5: in black, the A2 is clean, professional, with pockets and printing from EDC barely noticeable. Material and workmanship is excellent as well. As others have noted in their reviews, the pants have more pockets and more storage capacity than the description would have you believe: each side zip cargo pocket has two internal slip pockets, perfect for a phone and wallet in one side, passport and keys/hotel card in the other, with front, rear, and slip pockets still available. Front pocket are deep and also conceal items well as items place low and inside on the leg, virtually unnoticeable and away from all other pockets. The closest competitor pant I have found is the 5.11 Ridge pant/Apex pant duo, neither of which have the easy-access slip pockets, a deal-breaker for me. Also, with a fit between the 5.11 ridge pant (snug, so everything in any pocket clearly prints) and the 5.11 apex ( loose, giving more of a casual/tactical than professional appearance), the pants nicely balance minimal printing with a clean professional fit.
